Four decades of safety leadership in Nigeria

From a small circle of pioneers in 1980 to the country’s largest community of safety professionals — this is the ISPON Lagos story.

Our Story

The flagship branch of a national institute

The Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria was founded in 1980 by practitioners who believed workplace safety deserved a professional home. Today ISPON is the recognised voice of the profession — setting standards, certifying competence and advising government and industry.

The Lagos Branch is the Institute’s fast-growing and most engaging. From our Secretariat and Training Centre in Ikeja, we serve members across manufacturing, construction, oil and gas, logistics, healthcare and the public sector — and we train thousands of new safety professionals every year.
